This September, our Managing Director Tim Rumney, alongside other Best Western staff are cycling from York to Stoke to raise money for the charity Shelter. 15 riders will depart from Best Western’s Head Office in York, and cycle 115 miles over mixed terrain to Stoke for the Best Western Sales, Marketing and Revenue Conference.
We believe that everyone needs a safe and comfortable place to stay, which is why Best Western is supporting Shelter. Shelter are a UK based charity supporting millions of people who are experiencing bad housing situations or homelessness. They offer advice, support, and legal services, campaigning to solve housing issues in the hopes that one day their services will no longer be needed.
The cycle from York to Stoke is just the beginning of fundraising activities Best Western aims to reach a goal of £50,000 raised for Shelter. Best Western is encouraging all their members to take part, whether that’s through cycling, walking, swimming, or running, you name it. They’re encouraging all of us to take part in any way we can.
If you are unable to join in, please consider donating. Thousands of people are currently seeking help. Shelter is a high demand service, especially in the UK’s current housing crisis. Statistics show that a family is made homeless every 11 minutes.
You can donate through Best Western’s main page, or visit individual rider’s pages to see their unique fundraising targets and their reasons for joining in.
